I was born in Japan. Graduated from college and was a teacher for three years. I moved to the U.S. in 1985 and became a day care provider in 1989 in
Honolulu, Hawaii. I now have 3 daughters of my own and one is licensed to be an assistant, when necessary.
I have taken classes and attended workshops, as required by state law. Have totally renovated our garage into a 875 square foot child-care facility, decorated in bright and cheery colors. In addition, another portion of our home is used as a sleep area. The facility is well maintained and cleaned daily. Safety and a pleasant atmosphere is very important while I care for your children. I love working with children and find enjoyment just watching the children grow. I have now provided child-care in my home for a total of 13 years, including a short employment in a licensed Day Care Center in Portland, Oregon.
I offer a variety of developmentally appropriate activities as well as teaching the Japanese language. Children receive a balance of individual and group experiences to promote creativity, language development, self-esteem, independence and social and emotional skills throughout the day. I also assist the children to make positive choices.
My goal is to provide care with a home-like setting, promoting an educational curriculum, like in school.
